Brewer Caldwell Property Management - I just wanted to see the apartment!!!

I have never had such a hard time dealing with a rental agent.I should have known better when I had called the company and left many voicemails and no one called me back.

Eventually I had called and Bianca answered we set up an appointment which she didn't show up for. and we weren't the only ones that were trying to view the property.

I've decided not to rent with the company due to the fact that this women is simply not trying to rent this place to me.What's the point of having a contact number if your not going to answer your phones.

Brewer Caldwell Property Management - Worst Property Manager Ever

Chris Goodman is my supposed property manager - I have never met him - if he doesn't have an answer for you, he will ignore your emails and phone calls indefinitely!Brewer Caldwell is the worst run business I have encountered as a renter in Arizona.

They are not there to protect or help the tenants, just the owners.

I have been emailing him for weeks and my fiance has left several voicemails to no avail. Our heat went out and was out for six days and he will not acknowledge A.R.S. 33-1364!

Do not get a house managed by Brewer Caldwell! You are just asking for trouble!

This company only cares about making as much money as they can. I am an owner who has also been ignored and given ridiculous answers to my questions. Their maintenance company is used to increase their bottom line not address real problems.

After having tenants break the lease and move out mid month this company couldn't even do an inpection for a week because they couldn't get the keys but they could charge me for all of the tenants fees even though I was the one stuck cleaning up the mess.

They are not only incompetant but they exhibit poor communication skills

:(

Brewer Caldwell Property Management - Brewer-Caldwell is a NIGHTMARE!

Moved us into a rental that was totally dirty and we have had nothing but one repair after another since we moved in.The house was nowhere near move in condition and the HOA dues arent up to date so we cant even get the keys to the pool, which is why we rented this house in the first place.

According to Thomas Caldwell, the broker, this is "common". I dont know aout that - moving tenants into a crappy house that is nowhere near being ready for moving into and having your "manager" (aka Nathan Graham) spin a web of lies over telephone and email regarding the pool keys and repairs isnt really what I call common. But I guess thats how this shoddy property management company does business.

STAY AWAY!!!!My only consolation is the fact that this is a 7 month lease.

Brewer Caldwell Property Management - They are trying to make money off their tenants.

Brewer Caldwell charge their tenants for every little thing. They tried charging me for the refrigerator man coming to fix the fridge.

They claimed that it wasnt a real reason that they came. They tried charging me $85.00. Well my food was rotten so I guess they dont consider that a reason. I called the maintence man and complained now twice already they charged me $150.00 to be paid on next month's rent.

The first time I mailed my money order on time and for some reason it didnt get to them on time. Now I called them and told them that I didnt get paid till the fourth of the month and the receptionist said oh that's okay just call in the office and we can take check by phone and you can pay your rent or you can do it on line. It will just be a $10.00 fee. Well I went on line to pay and there was a $150.00 fee added to my account well I called the office and the receptionist said well if its not paid by the fourth that its late and I told her well thats not what you told me on Tuesday and she said well its in your contract.

Now I am stuck w/ paying $930.00 and my rent is usually $780.00. So I paid the $780.00+$10.00 processing fee to take by phone, paid it thru the office with thier accounts recievable was and they werent available to be paid till like 4:30 pm in the afternoon. They close at 5:00 pm and so if they were not available to take my payment I would of had more charges.

Will be moving as soon as least is up......I also paid almost $3,000.00 to move in this place which they are just ripping me off!

You make other "good" tenants look bad with statements like this.Reading your lease is your responsibility.

They rep the owner not you. You after all renting.. Therefore not represented most likely and if you were.. Your realtor didn't explain things to you properly.

Tenants have a lot of stories on how they mailed it on time... Odds are you didn't which puts you into this category... "Irresponsible" I get it. You like to blame other people for your mistakes..

It's cool....

Post your name so pm companies can steer clear of you when you when they research you. Thanks

Brewer Caldwell Property Management - What a waste of my time!

Hi,

I was working with Nathan who sent me to a ewntal property in El Mirage to view.

I drove out there from Scottsdale only to find no lock box and a broken dead bolt. I immediately called him to let hime know of the issue and as of 3 days later I have recieved no reply.

I also called the main office and talked with a receptionist and she promised to find him and have someone return my call and help me with the property.

Needless to say, I never viewed the property, wasted my gas to go see it and never got a return phone call from anyone regarding it.

Is that good business?

They use a lockbox system that is super beneficial to tenants.Sometimes it doesn't work 100%.

But it allows you to view multiple properties without a realtor holding your hand.Sounds like nothing will make you happy....

Brewer Caldwell Property Management - Travis Bohling did nothing for us and left us hanging

Maricopa, Arizona 1 comment

We contacted Brewer Caldwell, Travis Bohling before moving to the area about rental homes. We filled out an application and were charged $40 for it.

We got to Phoenix and mapquest nor google could get us to the homes on the web page. The addresses didn't exist, so I tried to call him but the cell number he gave me was out of service. That means it didn't work, if it was just shut off I would have reached his voice mail. So with a u-haul full from an interstate move we had to find a place to live without help or knowing the area.

Why are these people paid by home owners? The worst experience I have ever had with any real estate agent.

I had a great experience renting with Travis. I relocated here from out of state and he gave great service.

Brewer Caldwell Property Management - Beyon Reason

I am encountering a situation with a property management firm of which I need to know who can help me get it resolved.

We had a home built in Tolleson which was completed in 2007. After one year, we decided to rent it out and hired Brewer Caldwell to

1. find qualified tenants to rent it out ($300 deposit/additional $600 when tenant placed)

2. maintain the property for us ( 10% of monthly rent)

After one year of visiting back and forth between our LA home and the new home with absolutely no problems of any kind, two months after we signed with Brewer Caldwell, our house was burglarized by someone who had the key to the front door and also the keycode for alarm ( provided by witnesses in police report). Everything in the house was stolen.

The police detective and the insurance private investigation firm had confirmed that the evidence in fact looked really bad for the management company or someone with access to the firms information, i.e. vendors, real estate agents, who Brewer Caldwell utilized.

We had paid the $300 depsit and $600 placement fee for them finding a tenant ( which has been placed) but we didn't want to continue with the maintenance portion of the contract as we had lost complete trust in Brewer Caldwell and also didn't want them to handle any fiduciary matters concerning us. I wrote them and simply asked them to drop the maintenance portion of the contract since they hadn't entered into that portion of the contract time period yet ( the first maintenance month of the contract year). They would be out no money nor effort as they hadn't started yet...they stated they could cancel but if they did we would still have to pay the 10% fee per month for the whole year.

I have appealed to their goodwill and professional consideration due to the extenuating circumstances of the burglary....it fell on deaf ears.....

Who can help me get this remedied?

Just a warning and FYI: Our property manager told us the lockbox code to get the key so we could view the property. He did this for 3 other properties that we looked at as well.

He had never met us...we only got his number off the sign in the front yard.If I were a homeowner, I would NEVER use them to manage my properties.

Did you ever get this resolved?I can recommend a great attorney.

We have had problems with them too.FYI, the property managers give the lockbox codes to people who CALL and ask to see the properties instead of going there and opening them themselves.
